The 5th edition of the Blue Paper on ‘European Food Safety Trends, Key issues & Perspectives’ provides an update of the content of Blue Paper 2020 (RASFF data, regulation, consumers’ perspectives, food safety trends and fact, etc.). Next to that, it covers new topics, such as a dedicated chapter on Sustainability and its related regulatory framework, and new focuses on PFAS, Dioxins, Fats & Oils, Pet Food.
2020 will be remembered as the “Covid-19 year”. Although the SARS-CoV-2 is clearly not considered as a food safety hazard, the Covid-19 pandemic acts as an accelerator of deep food safety, quality and sustainability trends.
